Casey Browning, the second of five children of Michael "Stormy" and Amy Browning, was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 2 years old. Since then, Casey has had three relapses and recently had a second bone marrow transplant. Last winter, the family learned the roof of the residence was severely damaged.
"When they bought the house (five years ago) they were told it had recently been replaced...but that was not the case," Brown said.
Brown and a team of Habitat for Humanity volunteers made repairs at the residence, but some of the needed work was too complicated and Brown was required to summon reinforcement.
